Building Bright Futures: Youth Financial Literacy Classes Kick Off in Fairfax
Dadoo Foundation is proud to launch the Youth Financial Literacy Program, a monthly class series in Fairfax, Virginia, founded and led by Christopher Dadoo. The series kicked off in September with 5+ lower school students, and the group continues to grow. Students take part in hands-on lessons on earning, spending wisely, budgeting, saving, and watching money grow over time.
Christopher designed the curriculum and teaches each class through games and real-world scenarios. In one activity, students divided money among spending, saving, and giving, then explained their choices to the group. Older student volunteers helped lead each lesson, passing financial knowledge forward from one generation of students to the next.
“Most people don’t learn how money works until they make real decisions with it,” Christopher said. “I wanted these kids to start building good habits now, while it’still fun.
”The program brings our Financial Literacy cause to life: every child deserves the knowledge and confidence to build a stable, independent future. Classes continue monthly as the program expands. To volunteer or bring the program to your school, contact Christopher Dadoo on LinkedIn.
